Biography
Sue Hoerchner joined MSOE in 1988 as continuing education coordinator. Although a marketing major, she quickly developed an interest in hydraulics and mechanical engineering due to her role in promoting the Fluid Power Institute’s courses to the public. Through her years of service at MSOE, Hoerchner has applied her passion for continual learning and career development to expand her role in a variety of areas in Enrollment Management, the Applied Technology Center, and as an adjunct faculty member in the Humanities, Social Science and Communication Department and Rader School of Business.
Hoerchner’s career interests led her to pursue opportunities outside of higher education where she has gained experience in marketing, sales and human resources management. The common thread through her career is her enthusiasm for growth and development of people. Through opportunities at BORN Information Services, Clifton Gunderson LLP, and Kohl’s Corporation, she has been able to align her professional interests to strategies for talent development and most recently shared services delivery. In addition, she is able to bring real-world examples to the classroom as an MSOE adjunct faculty member.
